A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a young man on San Antonio's Eastside, prompting police to launch a manhunt for the unidentified driver who fled the scene, San Antonio Police Department officials confirmed.
The fatal collision occurred just before the stroke of midnight, near the 2500 block of IH-10 East, as the victim, a 23-year-old man, was navigating the perils of the exit ramp connecting to New Braunfels St. Despite the immediacy of the emergency response, the man, stricken down in his prime, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the tragic tableau, FOX San Antonio reports.
Details on the first driver remain sparse, however, a second driver, who also collided with the victim after the initial hit-and-run, did not flee. This driver remained at the scene and communicated with law enforcement. Their cooperation stands in stark contrast to the moral desertion exhibited by the culprit still at large, according to KSAT.
