
A man's life came to a tragic end this morning after a shooting in Minneapolis left him mortally wounded. Officers responded to a 3:45 a.m. call on the 600 Block of University Av SE, where they discovered a 40-year-old male with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite the immediate life-saving measures taken, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Hennepin Healthcare, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
The deadly incident appears to have quickly escalated from a physical fight that broke out inside 601 University Ave SE. Homicide detectives have launched an investigation to piece together the events leading up to the gun violence that shattered the early morning calm. Initial efforts to track down the perpetrator have yet to lead to any arrests.
The crime scene was meticulously processed by forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division, their search for evidence a silent testament to a life violently taken. The victim's name along with the cause and nature of his death will be disclosed following an examination by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, as per the Minneapolis Police Department.
