According to FOX9, Rusty, an orange tabby, was discovered near a pond in Woodridge Park on December 7 with injuries consistent with a pellet gun shot, as stated by the Cottage Grove Public Safety Board.
The family's distress was amplified when the emergency veterinarian concluded that Rusty's paralysis was irreversible which led to the difficult decision to euthanize the cat, the family is now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the individual responsible for this act of cruelty, Rusty's death has hit Joey Bush particularly hard, a person known to many in the community, this information was shared by the Cottage Grove Public Safety Board on Facebook.
