A man is dead following a traffic collision on FM 529 Road, authorities say. The incident, which occurred on the evening of December 14, involved a motorcycle and a sedan in a harrowing crash that left one man, Miguel Perea, without a pulse at the scene.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, at around 6:05 PM, Cristian Rivadeneira was in a gray Honda Accord when he failed to yield the right of way as he was turning left. This resulted in the Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by Perea, colliding with the vehicle on FM 529 Road. Paramedic J. Valdez arrived at the scene and pronounced Perea dead at 6:24 p.m.
Rivadeneira, who remained at the crash site, was reportedly not under the influence of any intoxicants at the time of the accident. Details from the office state that Rivadeneira's vehicle bore Texas license plates TPP1509 and Perea's motorcycle's registration was the Texas license plate 157E4G.
The Vehicular Crimes Division is still probing the specifics of the crash. Meanwhile, Perea's next-of-kin, his grandmother, has been notified of the tragic event. As the investigation continues, Rivadeneira's legal standing remains uncertain, pending the outcome of the said investigation.
