Janet Pelosi Diamond, a longtime resident of the club, recounted her experience, "I was beside myself at what I was seeing," in a statement obtained by WPTV. The bloodied field where the ducks once roamed marked a stark contrast to the peace of the golfing green.
"I don't think a lot of people know what's going on at the country club," Pelosi Diamond said, documenting the aftermath on camera in shock at the blatant disregard for life. According to the residents, the administrative response to the outcry has been to note the hiring of a licensed trapper to remove what they deem nonnative invasive species. As reported by WFLX, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that the Muscovy ducks, legally classified as invasive, can be dispatched with non-toxic bullets during daylight hours on private property.

"What I saw I thought was just so disgusting, so horrible, for the animals who are struggling to make it and to survive at a beautiful location, and they just turned it into a bloody nightmare," Pelosi Diamond told WPTV.
