A pedestrian was seriously injured on Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista, police said. The Chula Vista Police Department rushed to the 300 block of H Street following a 911 call around 8:39 P.M. about the collision.
The injured pedestrian was quickly transported to UCSD Hillcrest Hospital by Fire Department personnel. The victim is currently receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the unfortunate incident. Police, who are still piecing together the night's events, have confirmed that the 18-year-old driver involved stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department release, substances like drugs and alcohol have not been considered factors in this incident.
