The Pembroke Pines Police Department is hosting a Shred-A-Thon event this coming Saturday, offering a free service to shred personal and confidential paper waste. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on December 9 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, city dwellers are encouraged to bring any unwanted paper clutter for secure destruction, according to the news release.
In a bid to prevent identity theft and help residents declutter without worry, the Pembroke Pines Police Department is taking measures to not just securely dispose of private papers but to also ensure that the service is exclusively available to local inhabitants. Participants will need to show proof of residency, like an ID or a Pembroke Pines Utility Bill, to take part. Individuals can bring up to five boxes of paper goods, but they should be aware that medication will not be accepted for disposal.
The shredding is taking place at the centrally located Charles F. Dodge City Center, situated at 601 City Center Way, making it accessible for many Pembroke Pines residents.
