Law enforcement officers are turning to the public for assistance in nabbing a theft suspect whose brazen act of stealing $1,400 in cash was caught on Charlie Food Mart's security cameras. The theft occurred at the store located in the 23100 block of Aldine Westfield Road, as reported by the Constable's Office.
The incident, which unfolded on December 18, 2023, prompted deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office to investigate after the suspect made off with the currency from the counter. The employee, busy restocking the coolers, was unaware of the suspect's actions until it was too late. According to the Facebook post by Precinct 4, the male suspect, donning a gray tracksuit, managed to evade immediate capture and was seen getting into a black Chevy, occupied by another possible conspirator behind the wheel.
Authorities are eager to close in on the man responsible, described as a black male. Their appeal for public cooperation is an effort to leverage the community's vigilance. "If you have any information regarding the identity of the suspect, you are urged to contact our dispatch at 281-376-3472," urged Constable Mark Herman on a Facebook post, highlighting the necessity of vigilante citizens in aiding the quest for justice.
