Just after the clock struck 2 p.m. on Friday, a blaze erupted at a commercial site in Ramona, California, bringing together multiple firefighting teams in a united front against the flames. According to a post shared by CalFire San Diego, the Ramona Battalion was quick to the scene, greeted by the sight of a barn and a recreational vehicle engulfed in fire.
Firefighting units, swiftly engaging in a strategic dance with the inferno, worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes and structures. In a tragic twist of fate within the rescue operation, first responders saved 20 animals, including dogs and horses.
The firefighting prowess was evident as the flames were knocked down within a mere 34 minutes, a feat accomplished without any injuries reported among the brave men and women who answered the call. However, not all news was good—as revealed by CalFire San Diego—a horse was unfortunately found deceased, the animal unable to escape the corral's confines in time.
