Georgetown Independent School District has announced that Rebecca Lambert will take the helm as principal for the upcoming San Gabriel Elementary School. Set in the Santa Rita Ranch neighborhood, this latest addition to the district is expected to open its doors for the 2024-25 school year, bringing a fresh wave of educational opportunities to the community.
With a robust 12-year background in public education, Lambert is currently overseeing Village Elementary as its principal. In the spring of 2024, she will transition into her new role at San Gabriel Elementary School. Before charging at the forefront as principal, she enriched minds by teaching music, art, and bilingual education across various GISD campuses and shepherded students through the intricacies of AP Spanish Literature and Culture, according to Georgetown ISD,
Superintendent Devin Padavil expressed his confidence in Lambert's abilities to guide the new school's opening. "I am excited for the future of San Gabriel Elementary School with the leadership of Rebecca Lambert as their inaugural principal," stated Georgetown ISD.
Lambert, a proficient Spanish speaker, holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a bachelor's degree in Communication and Performance Studies, accentuated by a minor in Spanish from East Central University. Fulfilling the crucial tasks of hiring staff and developing effective processes for the new establishment, her journey in education continues to plant its seeds in the heart of Georgetown where she resides with her husband Jesse and their two GISD-enrolled sons, as per Georgetown ISD.
