
The landscape of Old West Austin is set for a major overhaul with the planned construction of Sixth&Blanco, a sprawling new mixed-use development that promises to deliver a fresh batch of housing, a boutique hotel, a sundry of new eateries, and expansive retail spaces along the bustling West Sixth Street, according to KVUE.
In an announcement extracted from the Austin American-Statesman, a new Swedish Hill outlet is slated to be housed on the ground level of a forthcoming five-story edifice, which includes plans for 50,000 square feet of commercial real estate spread across its first and second floors. The new structure, poised between the locations of a current pop-up shop and the former Z Tejas restaurant, will additionally host a hotel and private living spaces above the retail hustle and bustle, as per KVUE.
The Statesman reports that after the existing Swedish Hill location is demolished, a small outpost will open in the first quarter of the year, down the street at 1128 W. Sixth St. The outpost will remain open throughout Phase 2 construction, and a new location will open when the second phase is completed, as stated in KVUE.
