Riverside County's push to pave a better path for veterans entangled in the justice system got a boost this month. At a legislative breakfast hosted by the Riverside County Veterans Advisory Committee (VAC), community heavyweights came together to hash out support and solutions for justice-involved veterans.
The monthly morning meet-up, held at the American Legion Post 79, saw a mix of community leaders, law enforcement, public officials, and service organizations. The focus was on enhancing resources ranging from prevention and intervention to recovery for veterans caught up in the legal system. This convergence of stakeholders marks a step forward in the ongoing struggle to bolster the support network for vets and their families.
"Today's Legislative Breakfast was a tremendous success, and we are deeply encouraged by the level of engagement and commitment demonstrated by our community," Chuck Washington, Third District Supervisor, told Riverside County News Release.
