The San Antonio community rallied around the family of Latrevious Montrell Reed, the 21-year-old Uber Eats driver who tragically died in a crash earlier this month, providing strength and support as the family coped through the holiday season.
Reed met with a fateful accident on December 13 just before 10 p.m. when he and his partner who were delivering food lost control of their vehicle on the eastbound access road of Northeast Loop 410 by Jones Maltsberger, Reed was extricated from the wrecked car, but was pronounced dead at the scene while his partner was taken to the hospital, this according to information obtained from a previous KSAT article.
Reed's family, grappling with the sudden loss, found solace in sharing memories and pictures of him, recalling his bright smile and the love he held for his two-year-old daughter London, for whom he was working that fateful night to afford Christmas gifts. "He loved, and when he loved hard, you could tell," Reed's cousin Natasha Bussey told KSAT.
The outpouring of support from locals was indeed palpable as they provided dozens of Christmas presents for little London, ensuring she experienced joy amidst the pain of her father's absence, and Bussey expressed how much the family appreciated the gestures with people reaching out, some strangers to the family demonstrating the impact Reed had; "We appreciate it," Bussey said, hailing from a community that has shown an overwhelming display of unity and support for the grieving family, as reported by KSAT.
