Early Wednesday morning, a 911 alert from a victim's phone led San Antonio police to a dead body on the city's west side. Officers responded to the State Highway 151 Eastbound access road near S Callaghan Road at approximately 1:25 a.m. and made a grisly discovery—a man shot dead and left by the roadside, as reported by KENS 5.
Upon finding the body, police estimated the victim to be in his mid-30s to early 40s, lying on the side of the road with two gunshot wounds to his back. Strikingly, shell casings were absent from the scene, suggesting that the man might have been killed elsewhere before being dumped at the location. The sergeant believes the phone suffered an impact, sending an emergency alert to authorities, as mentioned in the KENS 5 article.
No known witnesses or suspects were in sight. The San Antonio Police Department is now urging the public for any information that might lead to the unraveling of this case.
A separate report by FOX San Antonio adds that the man was found dead in a car. However, the connection between the vehicle and the deceased is yet to be fully understood. The authorities are asking anyone with information to step forward and contact the police at 210-224-7867.
