In an incident out of Atascosa County, a woman was left for dead in a savage attack that ended with her being wrapped in plastic and discarded in a pasture. Roger Gonzales, a 31-year-old from San Antonio, has been charged with this brutal crime.
Responding to a grim discovery around 4 p.m. Friday, deputies found the victim on the 4000 block of Eichman Road, just northwest of Poteet, after she had been savagely beaten, multiple times stabbed, and her throat slashed, as reported by KSAT. Her subsequent rescue and transport to a San Antonio hospital left her in serious, yet stable, condition. Gonzales, who was reportedly wearing an ankle monitor during the time of the attack, now sits behind bars in Atascosa County Jail.
The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office and the San Antonio Police Department quickly follow up on leads. They ultimately tracked down and arrested Gonzales at a San Antonio residence on Saturday afternoon, as per the information in the press release.
