The blaze, which erupted Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Interstate 5 and State Route 52, mandated a second alarm, summoning multiple firefighting squads to battle the conflagration. Observers witnessed firefighters perched atop the dwelling, piercing the roof to douse the inferno within. The harrowing scene was captured on video by a passerby and shared under the hashtag #blochfire.
According to the SDFD's official X account, the fire crews managed to subdue the main body of the fire after their arrival, when smoke was already billowing from the structure. Despite the threatening flames, the personnel protected adjacent homes, which had been under tangible threat, from igniting. Having spent roughly half an hour engaging with the blaze, the firefighters initiated overhaul operations, seeking hidden fire pockets in the home.
