Chaos erupted in the quiet community of San Elijo, San Marcos when deputies were called to the scene of a gruesome stabbing late yesterday afternoon. The San Marcos Sheriff's Station confirmed that at around 5:15 PM, they responded to an emergency involving a female victim with multiple stab wounds.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured woman who conveyed to them a chilling account: her own daughter, aged 20, had been the assailant. In a swift action that followed, with the support of ASTREA – the aerial unit – the suspect was apprehended on a nearby hiking trail, her freedom evaporating as quickly as the trust between mother and daughter must have.
The authorities have taken the young woman into custody and she now faces charges for the assault. Thankfully, the victim's injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. The incident, which has sent ripples of shock through the community, remains under the microscope as investigators work to piece together the events leading to the violent encounter.
The motive behind the stabbing is not yet clear, and Detective Natalie Rivera reports, “The investigation is still ongoing.”
