In a routine stop-turned-drug and weapons bust, Santa Rosa Police responded to a report of a vehicle obstructing traffic on the streets of Rusch Court and West 3rd Street. Upon investigation, authorities apprehended Brooke Holderman at the scene around 5:40 p.m. last Sunday after discovering her sipping from an open alcoholic beverage and subsequently unearthing an active warrant for her from Lake County.
The search of Holderman's vehicle escalated to reveal more than just traffic offenses. A loaded 0.357 revolver—not registered in her name—was concealed within the car along with drug paraphernalia and suspected fentanyl. The Santa Rosa Police Department reported Holderman was booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on multiple charges, including carrying a loaded firearm in public and possession of narcotics.
The incident, captured in case number 23-15560, has highlighted the intertwining perils of substance abuse and illegal weapons on the streets. Sgt. Patricia Seffens, the Public Information Officer for Santa Rosa Police Department, provided details of the myriad charges Holderman now faces. She is charged under sections including 25850(a) PC for carrying a loaded gun in public, 29800(a)(1) PC for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and several Health & Safety code violations relating to her possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
