In a recent incident during a routine patrol, the police apprehended an 18-year-old individual found in possession of a loaded Glock 22 on the streets of South Boston over the weekend.
The suspect, Alajandro Rodriguez of Boston, was spotted with four others near 941 Massachusetts Avenue, a spot marked by the unheeding sign "No Trespassing" Officers noted that the group started to scatter upon their arrival, and Rodriguez was seen limping away, trying to avoid the attention of the law. The individual looked suspicious, turning away from officers and prompting a confrontation.
Defiantly, Rodriguez kept his hands in his pockets despite the officers' commands. Only after repeated demands did he comply, revealing a concealed Glock 22—a model known for its capacity and efficiency. The Boston Police Department's website reported that the weapon was loaded with ten rounds in the magazine.
During the pat-frisk, more than just the firearm was discovered. Five bags, suspected to contain crack cocaine, further sealed Rodriguez's fate. This led to a chain of charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large-capacity feeding device, and possession with intent to distribute class B drugs. Additionally, a trespassing charge was added. Rodriguez is expected to face the consequences of these charges in South Boston District Court, according to the detailed report from the Boston Police Department.
