The Solano County Sheriff's Office has successfully identified a suspect linked to a hate crime that left a local establishment, Thompson's Corner Saloon, marked with symbols of hate and racial slurs. The incident occurred one morning in August, staining the saloon's walls with swastikas and offensive language—a disturbing act that the county would not tolerate.
Initially, the investigation faced challenges, with few leads despite publicizing surveillance images. However, the community's watchful eyes played a crucial role—a tip directed detectives to social media posts containing vile slurs targeting Thompson's Corner Saloon. This digital trail proved decisive, leading to warrants served to social media providers that unveiled the suspect's account. Astonishingly, the individual closely resembled the figure captured on camera and lived near the crime scene.
As reported on the Solano County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the alleged vandal, 26-year-old Brendan Moore from Fairfield, saw his plans unravel when authorities executed a search warrant at his apartment. Incriminating evidence was discovered, linking him to the crime. Following the search, Moore confessed to his involvement in the reprehensible act.
Brendan Moore now faces multiple charges, including felony vandalism and hate crime allegations under the California Penal Code, specifically charges 594A1 and 422.7. Solano County Sheriff Thomas Ferrara expressed gratitude, stating, "I would like to thank our community for their assistance and our investigators for their continued perseverance during this lengthy investigation."
