A Tamarac woman has been arrested and charged with child neglect after her 4-month-old baby was taken to a Broward County hospital with injuries indicative of child abuse. Jamie Jean-Pierre, 24, was taken into custody by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday, as per the jail records available.
Based on the proceedings in court, doctors who examined the infant found multiple injuries, including a fracture, which they alleged showed signs of abuse. It was revealed in the court that Jean-Pierre, whose personal information was disclosed to include a height of 5'03" and brown hair and eyes, did not seek medical attention for the baby for at least 18 hours after the injuries occurred. This delay has contributed to the accusations against her.
