In what can only be described as a surge of nostalgia for classic rock fans, the powerhouses of melody Styx and Foreigner have declared a no-holds-barred farewell escapade branded as the 'Renegades and Juke Box Heroes Tour'. Kicking off on June 11th, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and drawing its final bow on August 28th, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, this tour promises to rock cities across North America one final time with their iconic anthems, as reported by Blabbermouth.
Not only is the Dallas skyline shimmering, but come June 21, the Dos Equis Pavilion will reverberate with power chords and heart-pounding drum solos as these giants of rock hold court. Tickets are already igniting a pre-sale frenzy starting December 4 and batting wide open for the general public come December 8. John Waite, coming along for the ride as a special guest, will undoubtedly up the ante with his chart-topping hits, according to FOX 4 News.
The glitzy VIP experience isn't left out of this shindig; offerings include backstage tours, socially distanced photo ops with the bands, and even the privilege of on-stage seating for Foreigners, because if you're going to say farewell, why not do it like rock royalty? "As an added bonus, John Waite will accompany us on the journey, adding his #1 hits to a special night of classic rock," defines Foreigner's lead guitarist, Mick Jones, in a statement brimming with exhilaration. as per Blabbermouth.
In an industry with more breakups and makeups than a soap opera, these bands represent a bygone era where chords were king and harmonies reigned supreme. As Styx's James "JY" Young puts it, the previous tours with Foreigner were instances where "both bands kicked ass and had a great time doing it," which sounds less like a press release and more like the inevitable promise of a rock'n'roll Ragnarok, as Blabbermouth reported.
So as the summer of 2024 approaches, with its warm nights and the scent of nostalgia in the air, classic rock lovers can look forward to basking in the glory of Foreigner's anthems and Styx's ballads. As Foreigner's Kelly Hansen warmly reflects, "I am so looking forward to spending many beautiful summer nights all around the country, full of great classic rock, music, and great friends", per Blabbermouth.
