Two brothers from Willis, Texas, are now out on bond after they turned a parking lot into a boxing ring, assaulting a Willis High School basketball coach over a benching dispute. According to FOX26 Houston, high school student Jevin Allen, 17, and his brother Jarrick Allen, 22, attacked the coach following a game against Conroe.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported that Jevin was sidelined by the coach for unsportsmanlike behavior towards a rival player. This decision didn't sit well with Jevin or his family and it led to the violent confrontation after the game; deputies were called to the scene around 9:52 p.m. on December 5.

Video footage and witness accounts, confirmed by the sheriff's deputies, showed Jevin initiating the physical assault with a punch to the coach's face and Jarrick joining in, only for another coach and several bystanders. They ultimately intervened to break up the scuffle, but the Allen brothers had fled by then, said the authorities.

After a thorough investigation, both Jevin and Jarrick Allen were arrested and charged with assault on a public servant, and although they are both now released from the Montgomery County Jail after each posted a $23,000 bond, the repercussions of their actions continue to ripple through the community. Willis ISD, they've made it clear that such behaviors have no place in their halls, as they confirmed the coach's recuperation and the student's withdrawal from the district, detailing, "We can confirm the incident did occur and that the coach is recovering well. The investigation is ongoing, but we did determine that the student's address was no longer valid, so he has been withdrawn from the district. We are deeply saddened by this incident and will not tolerate this behavior from students," according to a statement obtained by KHOU.
