In the dead of night, tragedy unfolded on a stretch of SR-116 in Sebastopol when two vehicles collided head-on, leaving two individuals dead and others severely injured. According to the California Highway Patrol - Santa Rosa division, the horrific crash took place near Sonoma Ave. around 12:11 a.m. Reports confirmed that a Mitsubishi 3000GT veered into the path of an oncoming Toyota 4-Runner, resulting in catastrophic consequences.

The initial investigation had suggested the Mitsubishi was eastbound when it abruptly drifted across the center line, eventually crashing into the Toyota. Although the reasons behind this deadly maneuver remain unclear, authorities are working diligently to untangle the series of events that led to this unfortunate incident. Tragically, the male driver of the Mitsubishi and his female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Another male passenger was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The Facebook post by the CHP provided dreadful details of the aftermath, stirring an immediate response from emergency services. Firefighters and paramedics worked feverishly to aid the victims while officers began piecing together what little evidence was left in the wake of the crash.

Adding to the casualties, the driver of the Toyota also suffered significant harm and was transported to the same hospital as the rear passenger of the Mitsubishi.
