Two minors have been cuffed in Dorchester after they reportedly attacked a group of elderly Christmas carolers, Boston police revealed. The incident occurred on Johnston Road last Sunday when a friendly hymn-singing outing turned violent for the unsuspecting singers. According to the Boston Police Department, two of the carolers, aged sixty and above, were brutally punched from behind multiple times in the head as they were singing to cheer up a friend.
Arriving at the scene after the call at about 3:05 PM, the officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) wasted no time in gathering descriptions of the assailants, though the suspects had vanished by the time the police had got there. Declining any medical treatment, the assaulted individuals, adorned in their festive garb, stood as silent testimonies to an act of inexplicable cruelty.
However, swift justice wasn't far behind. Detectives working the case managed to track down two juvenile suspects following a rigorous investigation. Having been brought in for questioning along with their parents, the youths, ages 15 and 16, confessed to their heinous acts, the police announced. The juveniles will now be facing charges for assault and battery on persons aged 60 or older, Dorchester District Court awaiting to dispense what's due under the law.
