A deadly altercation unfolded in a Miami Gardens office building on Friday when two men fatally shot each other following a heated argument in an elevator. The incident took place at the Bank of America Miami Office Center, located at 18350 NW 2nd Ave., as reported by Local 10 News.
The Miami Gardens Police Department indicated that the shooting occurred approximately at 2:10 p.m. when the men were transiting to the fifth floor. One of the men reportedly initiated gunfire, with the other man quickly returning fire as they stepped out of the elevator. Officer Diana Delgado, a Miami Gardens Police Department spokesperson, stated that the men were in critical condition when transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to the hospital, where they later died, as per Local 10 News.
Witnesses at the scene described the chaos. One employee at the building reported hearing multiple gunshots and a woman recalled, "I just heard boom, boom, boom, boom." The panic was palpable as individuals in the building tried to make sense of the situation, with some hearing gunpowder and ambulances while others attempted to reach loved ones who were inside at the time, according to NBC Miami.
