
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with armed robbery after a confrontation on Chicago's South Side, authorities said today. The pair allegedly brandished a firearm and robbed a 16-year-old boy of his personal belongings just before they were apprehended by police last night.
The Chicago Police Department stated that the juveniles, whose names have not been released due to their age, were arrested at 9:06 p.m. in the 7900 block of S. Cottage Grove. They are accused of committing the robbery less than 30 minutes prior in the 6000 block of the same street. Officers were able to quickly locate and arrest the suspects, and they have been charged with one felony count each of robbery - armed with a firearm and one felony count each of aggravated UUW/Person/<21.
The Chicago Police Department has not yet released additional information regarding the case.
