On a somber Christmas night in 1955, a scene unfolded that remains unresolved to this day. Fort Worth Police Department's own Marvin Elton Wills, working off-duty, stepped into a chilly night air that held more than the festive spirit. Wills, lured 200 yards from his post at the Western Hills Hotel, found himself embroiled in a violent confrontation that ended with the officer sustaining severe injuries and ultimately, four bullet wounds. Decades have passed, but the perpetrators have successfully evaded the grasp of justice, according to the Fort Worth Police.

In a cruel twist of fate, Officer Wills's Christmas turned from a night of potential revelry to a desperate fight for survival. Having been bitten and vigorously struck on the head, the veteran officer was mercilessly shot four times. The details, sparse as they are, paint a grim picture of the mysterious encounter in that vacant lot, but they fail to shine a light on those responsible for the attack. The suspect or suspects have remained at large since that fateful night in 1955.
