Fort Lauderdale Police Department has released new surveillance footage hoping to spark leads in the unsolved murder of 22-year-old Allie Cadet, gunned down and robbed on Sept. 2. The video, which captures the moments leading up to Cadet's killing, has now added a visual plea to the mother's ongoing call for justice. Cadet's mother, whose identity has been withheld for safety as the suspect remains on the loose, expressed her heartache in a recent interview. "I'm just looking for justice for my son. That's the reason why I wanted to talk to you, only if somebody can come forward to help me look for his justice," she told 7News.
According to police, the crime took place around 12:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Northwest 16th Court, where Cadet and others appeared to have been gambling by a staircase. The video has been edited to blur out Cadet's last moments, but it shows the harrowing reality of the subjects fatally shooting him, swiftly taking to steal his money before fleeing the scene. Despite the passage of months, the resolution of his case remains elusive, causing his mother to struggle silently, especially during the holiday season. "I'm hurting every day, especially around the holidays like this," she said to NBC Miami. The family grapples with a loss that has malformed their sense of time and justice, eager to turn the tide of their mourning into answers.
Allie Cadet, remembered fondly by his mother, was not only funny and sociable, but also loved to lend a helping hand. Now, the victim's family is left to covet the smile and warmth he once brought to their lives—a memory painfully revisited with every viewing of the footage or mention of the tragedy. "I love my son from the head to the bottom," Cadet's mother recalled in her statement to NBC Miami.
Investigators have called upon the community, urging anyone who may have information to step forward. Anyone with insights or who witnessed the shooting is implored to directly help bring light to this case, one plea at a time. Cadet's mother, clad in the armor of hope and faith, clings to the possibility of swift justice, saying, "In the name of Jesus? Yes, I believe I will get justice as soon as possible." If you have any details on this shooting or the suspects' whereabouts, you're encouraged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Informants may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
