Windsor Police were hot on the heels of three suspects from North Carolina after a probation check turned into a chase through a quiet neighborhood. On December 14, just as the sun began its descent, deputies knocked on the door of a house on Alden Court, looking to confirm the compliance of a resident previously nabbed for packing heat in a car—this time, it was anything but routine.
The encounter quickly escalated when deputies, tipped off by a sharp-eyed local, realized that a trio had fled the back of the residence; two of those on the lam were snagged posthaste. With assistance from both Windsor PD and Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office deputies, a Nixle alert from the Sheriff’s dispatch didn’t take long to result in the third runner's capture. All thanks to the eagle-eyed Windsor community, the trio was rounded up not a stone's throw from where they'd originally bolted.
In what became a significant bust, the home revealed more than 50 pounds of processed marijuana ready for the market and a stash of cash, speaking volumes of the operation's scale. A search warrant gave deputies full access, opening the door to an investigation that is pressing forward.
The hustling suspects, identified as Daquan McGrant and Donquarious Dixon, both age 21, joined by the elder, 24-year-old Demontrez Breedlove, found themselves in handcuffs, facing charges of resisting a peace officer, according to the Town of Windsor Police Department's Facebook post. They're now cooling their heels in the Sonoma County Jail, waiting for the gears of criminal justice to turn.
