A routine welfare check spiraled into violence when a woman attacked a paramedic by biting them, officials said. Maria Calderon is now on the run and wanted by the law for sinking her teeth into a public servant.
Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the 7100 block of Foxbrick Lane on December 20th after concerns were raised about Calderon's well-being. According to a Facebook post by Precinct 4, Calderon required medical attention, which quickly turned sour when she bit the responding paramedic, inflicting pain and discomfort.
Following the incident, Calderon was taken to a local hospital, after which a warrant was issued for her arrest. The assault on the paramedic has led to charges of Assault of a Public Servant against her. "Maria Calderon is currently wanted by law enforcement for Assault of a Public Servant. Her bond and court information have not been set at this time." Constable Mark Herman stated.
As of now, Calderon's bond and court information remain undecided, with authorities actively on the lookout for her. The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed.
