
An 11-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Martin Luther King Junior Drive SW in Atlanta before police discovered him wounded at 11 Allen Temple Court NW, authorities said Sunday. The young victim, whose identity has been withheld due to his age, was found alert and conscious by police who responded to the scene of the crime on the evening of January 14th.
According to a statement by the Atlanta Police Department, the call came in around 6:29 PM and the boy was immediately transported to an local hospital for treatment. The incident appears to have started at 3202 Martin Luther King Junior Drive SW, which is currently the focus of a preliminary investigation.
Investigators assigned to the Aggravated Assault Unit are working diligently to shed light on the situation.
