In January, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office shared exclusive details concerning the unsolved murder of Wingo who was just 24 years old when her body was found on the side of a road in a desert, now after 35 long years authorities have once again renewed their efforts to solve the case, still grappling with the sheer scope of possibilities due to the extensive social circle of the victim, ABC15 reports.
Wingo, originally from Chicago and notably a young mother who was estranged from her husband, was last seen January 9, 1989, before her disappearance; her roommate filed a missing person report after she did not return home and it was several days later that hunters found her remains under a tree, said Commander Tom Boelts in a statement obtained by ABC15, and Investigator Theresa Higdon added, "She did not deserve the demise that she got."
