Gunfire erupted at an Arlington recording studio Saturday night, leaving one man injured and two others with gunshot wounds after what authorities suspect to be a drug-related confrontation, Arlington police said. The 29-year-old man, later treated for non-life-threatening injuries, reported that he was producing music when two masked men burst in and opened fire. He claimed he was armed and returned fire, striking both assailants, according to FOX 4 News.

The drama began unfolding before 10:30 p.m. when the wounded man sought help at a business on E. Lamar Boulevard. After a stolen vehicle seen fleeing the Collins Street locale sparked a police chase, officers stopped the car on NE Green Oaks Boulevard. Found inside were Kinton Jones, 30, and George Duncan, 52, both suffering from gunshot wounds. After being admitted to a hospital, with Duncan landing in the ICU, police uncovered guns and a face mask in their possession, potentially tying them to the earlier shooting, as per CBS News.

Jones and Duncan are now facing serious charges. Jones will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, evading arrest, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Duncan will be slapped with a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well.

While recovering in the hospital, before paramedics transported him, the victim told officers of the harrowing encounter with the armed intruders at the N. Collins Street recording studio. Police, having found evidence indicative of high-risk drug activity at the site, are continuing their investigation into the events that precipitated this violent exchange. They believe the drug activity may be central to the motive behind the shooting, though additional details have yet to be released.
