According to Atlanta News First, the lineup boasts a mix of talent across various music genres like gospel and hip-hop, mirroring the city’s diverse cultural fabric and aiming to enhance the overall fan experience.
It's not just about basketball; kicking off on Jan. 10, against the Philadelphia 76ers, patrons will be treated to a performance by Yacht Rock Revue, an Atlanta-based sensation bringing back the smooth sounds reminiscent of the '70s and '80s. This ensemble, known to effortlessly to play with nostalgia, will be the halftime entertainment, adding their unique flare to the game presented by adidas, as reported by NBA.com.
However, the musical revelry doesn't stop there. Tasha Cobbs Leonard, a GRAMMY® Award-winning gospel singer, will grace the court on Faith & Family Night, Jan. 12, against the Indiana Pacers. Nick Niespodziani of Yacht Rock Revue promised an unforgettable halftime show, stating, "We're gonna throw down retro smooth jams like Human Highlight Film dunks. Let’s Go Hawks!” in a statement obtained by Atlanta News First. As for Cobbs Leonard, a Georgia native herself, the chance to perform in her home state at such an event holds a special place. She told Atlanta News First, “I can't wait to cheer on the home team and share in this unique blending of culture and community during Faith & Family Night.”
The celebrations continue into the following week as the Hawks host their sixth annual Pride Night on Jan. 17. The night will sparkle with the talents of rap artist and actress Da Brat, who is slated to deliver a pulsating halftime performance as the Hawks face the Orlando Magic, further marking the team's allegiance to inclusivity. "I am proud and honored to be performing at the Atlanta Hawks Pride Night,” Da Brat expressed in an interview with NBA.com. Her influential presence aligns with the event's purpose of celebrating both members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
In addition to these music-infused basketball nights, the team is also expected to announce a special act for the annual MLK Day Game, presented by Chase on Jan. 15, with details forthcoming.
