
The Austin Police Department is on the hunt for two men linked to a daylight robbery at a 7-Eleven, and they're asking for the public's help to catch the alleged thieves. The crime occurred on November 19th, around 5:33 p.m. at the convenience store on Menchaca Road, as detailed in the Austin Police Department report.
The altercation kicked off when one suspect reportedly filled his pockets with merchandise inside the store. After the suspect tried to leave with the goods, a confrontation between him and the female clerk ensued which quickly escalated. The employee was assaulted before the suspect fled the scene with his accomplice waiting outside, according to the Austin Police Department.
Descriptions of the suspects have been released in the hopes that witnesses might recognize them. Suspect #1 is a Black male in his early 20s, around 5’4” to 5’5” tall, with a medium build and long, curly hair. He was last seen garbed in a green jacket over a light-colored shirt. Suspect #2, also a black male, is taller, measuring between 5’8” and 6’0", and of a thin build. He was rocking a black shirt on top of a red long-sleeve, further covered by a bright-colored hoodie.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to step forward. A reward of up to $1,000 may be waiting for tips that lead to an arrest.
