Early this morning, San Antonio police were called to a grim scene on the south bank of San Pedro Creek, where a body was found sprawled near Nogalitos Street. According to a report by FOX San Antonio, law enforcement discovered the body just before 8 a.m. in the 1000 block of Nogalitos. While there were no visible signs of trauma on the victim, the area had experienced an overnight flood that police believe to possibly be linked to the death.
San Antonio Park Police are now actively investigating this incident, and they were called to precisely trace the perimeter of the scene around 11:30 a.m. The creek had overflowed its banks late Sunday night and continued to flood into the early hours yesterday, which has led to suggest that the flood might have been a contributing factor in the person's demise. A KENS 5 report confirmed that the body was found on the south bank of the creek bed, intensifying the mystery surrounding the circumstances of this death.
The identity of the deceased, as well as the cause of death, remain unclear. Officials expect the medical examiner to soon conduct an investigation to provide some clarity in this unsettling discovery.
