
Yesterday, Boston police nabbed a 28-year-old South Boston man on multiple firearms charges during a traffic stop in Dorchester. The officers, part of the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan), were patrolling near Franklin Field when they spotted a vehicle speeding, blowing through a red light at the intersection of Blue Hill Ave and Westview St.
As per the report by the Boston Police Department, the traffic stop occurred around 1:15 AM, on January 13, at the corner of Greenwood St and Harvard St. Tevin Ramsey was arrested when an officer saw the handle of a gun sticking out of his jacket pocket, during interactions with the occupants of the stopped vehicle.
The retrieved weapon was a Polymer 80 9mm pistol, which was loaded with six rounds in the magazine, and one in the chamber. Ramsey now faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and also, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm. While Ramsey was taken into custody, the driver of the vehicle received citations for traffic infractions and the other passengers were let go, without charges. Ramsey is slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court according to the details provided by the Boston Police Department.
