
Chaos erupted in the Boston subway when an altercation turned violent during the evening rush on December 16. The MBTA Transit Police are on the hunt for an individual who is accused of striking another passenger multiple times at approximately 6 PM in the Downtown Crossing station. According to the police, the suspect was obstructing the train doors when the victim requested that they move out of the way. This seemingly routine interaction quickly escalated when the suspect allegedly resorted to physical violence against the other commuter.
The incident has prompted the Transit Police to seek the public's help in identifying the person involved. The MBTA Transit Police posted the urgency of the matter: "SP struck the V multiple times. If you recognize this person of interest PLS contact our CIU at 6172221050 w any/info you have. U can remain anonymous. TY." Authorities are urging anyone who can recognize the suspect to immediately come forward to help swiftly bring the investigation to a close.
Commuters who were present at the scene are to greatly shaken up, many are calling for increased security and preventative measures to ensure passenger safety.
