South Braintree Square was the scene of heavy police activity following a robbery at a local CVS store. Authorities were swift to deploy multiple police units and a K9 squad in the area directly behind the CVS and the Braintree Fire Headquarters. Residents were asked to steer clear of the disturbance and remain indoors to allow law enforcement, accompanied by the canine unit, to conduct their search efficiently.
Details about the robbery itself remain sparse, but the presence of Braintree's finest and their four-legged partners canvassing the neighborhood pointed to a serious response. The suspect, having presumably evaded capture during the initial surge of law enforcement activity, led to the police cordoning off the surrounding area. The search seemed to extend beyond the immediate vicinity of the crime scene, with officers meticulously scouring the neighborhood behind the Fire HQ.
Throughout the operation, community members were urged to stay inside and avoid the South Braintree square area to not interfere with the police and K9 efforts. The official Facebook page of the local police department served as a beacon for information. The initial post detailed the active investigation and the subsequent update proclaiming the break down of the perimeter. Authorities believed at this time that the suspect had managed to slip out of the net they had cast.
For now, the police continue their investigation, hopeful that leads will surface and the suspect brought to account for the disruption caused to this normally peaceful place.
