Lauderdale Lakes is on high alert as the Broward Sheriff's Office hunts for a trio of quick-fingered thieves who helped themselves to an unearned brew or several. In a robbery that's left authorities foaming, the suspects were caught on surveillance footage executing a brazen beer heist at a RaceTrac gas station, as reported by WSVN.
Just before 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 11, surveillance videos show a green Ford Ranger—seeming less a getaway vehicle and more an accomplice to the lager larceny—parking behind the convenience store along the 3000 block of Northwest 33rd Avenue.
The suspects tried various doors to make their escape, and when employees took a stand, one was shoved aside, demonstrating a determination to depart with their pilfered pilsners. As detailed by WSVN, the bandits managed to slip away, leaving with more beer than they bargained for.
Store employees, showcasing a dedication to duty, can be seen on video trying to block the beer burglars' exit and were attempting to recover the stolen goods. Nevertheless, the suspects, having pushed away one of the employees, capitalized on the moment in a successful beery blitz, as per NBC Miami.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident or the identities of these audacious ale absconders to get in touch with BSO Robbery Detective Armando Enrique at 954-321-4233, use the SaferWatch App, or call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
