Buc-ee's, Texas State's beloved gas station chain known for its beaver mascot and sprawling convenience stores, is plotting its first foray into Arizona. Plans for a 75,000-square-foot retail behemoth have officially been submitted to the Goodyear municipal brass, as FOX 10 Phoenix reports.

This proposed Buc-ee's outpost, promising to offer weary I-10 travelers an oasis of snacks, souvenirs, and the cleanest bathrooms in the biz would nest on 71 acres near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue. The city's planning and zoning commission has already given these plans a thumbs-up, signaling a unanimous vote to rezone the stretch of land—not just for Buc-ee's, but also for some industrial architecture plans. Before any ground is broken, the Goodyear City Council has to drop the gavel of approval, making the next step of this deal as crucial as a perfect trucker hat fit.

To date, Buc-ee's boasts 47 locations, with a roots-deep presence in Texas through 34 stores. The brand's out-of-state footprint treads across the Southeast, but the Arizona expansion could signal a westward brand stampede. According to ABC15, Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s laid it out in plain text: “We have not closed on the property. Buc-ee’s is considering building a store in Goodyear, and we currently have land under contract.”

The proposed Goodyear Buc-ee’s location is more than a pit stop. It's a strategic move to extend the brand's reach, reinforcing the growing trend of regional chains pushing past their historical borders for a piece of the national pie. The full plan for this retail paradise is available for public viewing.
