Cambridge Police said they raced to Danehy Park at 9:20 p.m. following calls about more than eight shots ripped through the quiet of the evening. Upon arrival, officers found only the echoes of violence, in the form of multiple shell casings at Field and Fern Streets, and neither victims nor witnesses.
While the neighborhood managed to avoid bloodshed, the investigation into the shooting raged overnight. Detectives beat the streets to piece together the chaos, confirming the shots originated near the park's entrance. Yet there, where the fingers of shadow meet the stark streetlights, the search continued for how many firearms were involved.
At this time, Cambridge Police have insisted that there's no evidence suggesting anyone was hurt in the flurry of shots.
