The attraction, a beacon of springtime splendor, is set to open its doors on March 1. Tickets, which just went on sale, are expected to be snatched up quickly by those eager to immerse themselves in the seasonal spectacle.
"People back east, they've got Groundhog Day. Here in Southern California, we have The Flower Fields," Fred Clarke, general manager of The Flower Fields, told Patch. He added that an expansive 55 acres of giant tecolote ranunculus will soon signal spring's return. Despite cooler temperatures now, Clarke has hinted at an extra colorful season to come, attributing it to slightly warmer conditions last fall that have the flowers germinating robustly.
This year's theme of "Spring into Color" is not just a nod to the natural panorama but also a homage to the farm's labor and successful cultivation of these vibrant flowers. Clarke remarked, "When you get up close and personal to the color, it's powerful." The venue is also all set to host a series of activities, including live music, wellness classes, and workshops, ensuring there's much more to experience than just the floral eye candy.
Other notable attractions at The Flower Fields, such as the American Flag of Flowers, the sweet pea maze, and Santa's Playground, are featured on the official website. Visitors can also enjoy tractor-wagon rides or try their hand at the Carlsbad Mining Company, promising a full experience beyond the visual feast. Although tickets are available online only, Clarke advised, "Later in the season, when it's busier, we do sell out. Sometimes buying your ticket in advance assures that you get to visit."
The Flower Fields announced the availability of 2024 season tickets via a Facebook post, inciting fans to share their excitement.
