The string of burglaries, authorities note, occurred at disparate locales ranging from North Southport to North Halsted, with incidents on January 6, 2024, seeing break-ins on the 3400 block of North Southport at 3:20 am, the 2700 block of North Clark at 3:50 am, and continuing through the 3700 block of North Southport at 4:10 am, and the 3100 block of North Lincoln at 4:30 am, moving into the next day with burglaries on the 1700 block of West Wilson at 5:47 am and the 2100 block of West Chicago at 6:41 am, and the spree maintained its pace with further burglaries recorded on January 8 and again on January 25 across various blocks, consolidating the intention of the offenders to plunder the community's commercial resources. Offender descriptions provided by the CPD remain vague with suspects only identified as wearing dark clothing, masks, and gloves.
