Chicago businesses in the 14th and 19th Districts are on high alert following a string of armed robberies that struck liquor stores across the city. The Chicago Police Department issued a business alert detailing the crimes that occurred on January 15, where perpetrators armed with semi-automatic and revolvers threatened employees with violence and made off with cash. Witnesses reported the assailants saying, "GIVE ME EVERYTHING, DON'T MOVE OR I'LL SHOOT," during the heists.

The spree of robberies started at 8:43 PM at a liquor store on 2006 W Division St, followed by another at 9:03 PM on 1917 W Fullerton Ave, and a third at 9:20 PM on 2807 N Clybourn Ave. In a particularly harrowing incident, one victim was forced to an ATM at gunpoint to withdraw cash. On top of the financial loss, some of the store employees faced physical violence; in two cases, victims were struck in the face, resulting the injury.

The suspects in question have been described as four male African Americans, aged between 20 and 25. According to the police alert, one was seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, while the other three were in black hooded sweatshirts and jeans. They are reportedly slim built, between 5'09" and 6'00" in height, and weigh approximately 140 to 180 pounds.

Local businesses are being urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. The police advise against attempting to reason if coming into contact with the offenders and stress the importance of functional surveillance systems. In the event of an encounter, they instruct to call 911 immediately with a detailed description of the offenders, including any vehicle information if available.
