
A man fell victim to gun violence last night in Chicago's East Garfield Park neighborhood when he was shot in the leg while driving, according to FOX 32 Chicago. The 26-year-old was behind the wheel around 8:45 p.m. on the 3800 block of West Washington Boulevard when an assailant in a white sedan opened fire; he sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg and was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
Reports from the Chicago Police echoed the narrative describing a white sedan from which the shots were fired. The Chicago Police Department's media incident notice confirmed that the injured man was transported by the Chicago Fire Department to the hospital, and as of now, authorities have apprehended no suspects for the shooting.
Detectives from Area Four are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Inquiries into the incident continue as law enforcement seeks to uncover the motive behind the attack and identify the perpetrator. The department has asked anyone with information to come forward.
