The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert to residents of the 011th, 014th, and 025th Districts after a string of armed robberies took place in the early hours of January 29, 2024. A trio of male suspects, donning black ski masks and brandishing brown handguns, are reported to have forcefully demanded and threatened for the victims' possessions.

Victims were confronted by the assailants who arrived at the scene in a white KIA Sorrento, license plate CL74591, the offenders would then confront the victims demanding valuables and in certain incidents resorting to violent measures, two of those unlucky were met with physical harm; one individual was hit in the face, another in the ribs. After completing their heist, the criminals would promptly evacuate the vicinity in their getaway vehicle.

The incidents occurred within a span of less than an hour, starting at the 1800 Block of North Kildare Ave at approximately 5:33 AM and ending at the 1000 Block of North Kildare Ave around 6:30 AM. Descriptions of the suspects are remarkably uniform, with all three being African-American male individuals aged between 18 to 25, of medium build and height, clothed in an all-black ensemble.

Chicago Police have offered safety tips to the public, urging citizens to stay vigilant of their environment and suspicious characters, to move in groups, avoid confronting the assailants and to opt for parking in areas teeming with people and abundant lighting, they also encourage residents to inform their neighbors about these crime  patterns and to promptly contact authorities if they witness or fall victim to such offenses.
