Four men are on the run after a botched home invasion in Chula Vista that nearly ended in tragedy. In the early hours of November 19, the group brazenly entered a residence through an open garage door on the 1200 block of Pershing Rd., according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
The homeowner, startled by the intruders, attempted to force them out but was met with violence. One of the assailants, armed with a handgun, fired a shot into the door, narrowly missing the victim. The suspects then fled the scene in an older model gray or silver two-door sedan. No injuries were reported, but the incident has left the community on edge.
A video release by the Chula Vista Police Department captures the tense moments as the men infiltrate the garage, and detectives are urging anyone who might recognize the suspects or have information about the crime to come forward. San Diego Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest in this case.
