Her obituary described her as "an outstanding officer: protective, caring, dedicated, grounding, and resourceful." In addition, it stated, "However, her impact on her family, friends, doctors, nurses, cancer team, neighbors, and fellow officers' lives on."

Walker, a Brooklyn native was widely respected for her "no-nonsense approach with love, loyalty, and a giving heart." Friends and colleagues remember her for her steadfast presence, her love of traveling, and the joy she found in family gatherings. Her final farewell is scheduled for Wednesday morning, where she will be laid to rest at South View Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of service and love that touched many lives.
